We prioritize learning (growth in knowledge and skills) over doing (mere activity). By assessing progress rather than just attainment, we ensure every child reaches their individual potential.
At RISU Primary, we build the foundations of literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking. Our modern curriculum addresses every facet of a child’s development—social, physical, emotional, and spiritual—to nurture confident, global inquirers. Through RISU’s creative learning themes, children master skills in English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Art, Citizenship, Music, Computing, French, Sports and Swimming
We provide expert-led instruction to ensure high-quality physical and creative development:
We are a diverse school community, thriving in Kampala, Uganda, and we prepare 21st-century learners to thrive in an interdependent world. Through the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), students explore perspectives from their "home" and "host" countries to become global citizens. The IPC used a thematic approach to cover several ‘subjects’ in a hands-on, creative way (Science, History, Geography, Art, Citizenship, International).
RISU’s Definition of Global Mindedness: Respecting and valuing cultural diversity by learning about, from, and with each other.
RISU Primary children benefit from daily 30-minute sessions dedicated to wellbeing, as well as weekly PSHE sessions (Personal, Social, Health & Economic). RISU children are confident, caring and collaborative.
We integrate eight core personal goals into everything we do:
