Building a Lifetime Foundation

The first years of preschool shape a child’s future. Our Early Years (EYFS) Programme provides a foundation for academic success and emotional well-being. Our comprehensive, dynamic, and contemporary curriculum prepares our young ones to navigate life with complete confidence. Our priority is for children to discover school as an enjoyable and fun experience. There is a strong focus on ‘learn through play’, clear communication in the English language, socialisation with other children, and developing independence.

The EYFS curriculum is based on the three prime and four specific areas of learning, and the three characteristics of effective learning, set out below:

Nursery: First Steps to Success

Our Nursery is a secure, nurturing space where children transition from home to school. We treat every child as an individual and encourage the development of independent and confident young learners.

  • Explore: Encouraging curiosity through observation and questioning.
  • Grow: Developing language, physical coordination, and social skills.

  • Empower: Building independence in self-care and decision-making.

Kindergarten: Confidence & Independence

In Kindergarten, we bridge the gap between play and formal learning. Our focus is on raising happy, self-reliant individuals who are ready for the world.

Early Literacy: Phonics and sound awareness.

Self-Care: Mastery of personal routines and independence.

Collaboration: Integrated play with Nursery to build social routines.

Reception: Preparing for Year 1

The final year of EYFS bridges the gap between play-based discovery and formal education. We shift the focus from what children are doing to what they are learning, fostering independent, curious minds.

  • The Transition: A gradual shift toward structured learning to ensure Year 1 readiness.
  • Core Pillars: Focused development in Literacy, Maths, IPC, and PSHE.
  • Creative Literacy: Using “Drawing Club” to blend writing with imagination and art.
  • Hands-on Maths: Building mathematical concepts through practical apparatus and imagery.
